The Zombie Pimp Limp Walk

Well she's a'walking, 10 months and 20 days old! Andrew and I had bets on to when she would start. I said it would be before the end of April, and Andrew had anytime after that. I win. Our pint sized Abby decided to take her first steps on Saturday. They were not the most steady steps and she mostly resembled a zombie with a left pimp limp, but it was none the less the cutest thing I have ever witnessed! Best part about it, both Andrew and I were in the room and we were both witness to those first steps. And to make it even cuter, every time she falls she turns to make sure you are watching her and then smiles and giggles.

Here is the progression of her walking.

 I'm such a proud Mama!

Lucky Abby also got a very early birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa, a play kitchen. The only reason she got it early was because I had a good coupon for it (I like to save as much money as I can) and I could not wait after it arrived for her to play with it. I think she would have made it to her birthday, but I'm just impatient. I loved my play kitchen when I was little and spent hours baking things and having tea parties with my dolls and stuffed animals. Abby is not quite to that point yet, but she does enjoy opening the oven and putting things in in. She closes it, giggles, then reopens it, astonished that what she put in there is still there. Crazy, it's like she thinks it was going to disappear. I do wonder what goes through her little brain. So thanks, Grandma and Grandpa, for giving Abby endless hours of fun, and some quiet time for Mom and Dad.
She loves the kitchen but hates people putting clothes on her. At least I got a diaper on her.

And just some more random pictures from the week.

She loves Dexter. Dexter is still less than amused with her, but does tolerate all her fur and tail pulling. He got a raw beef bone treat this week. Don't feel too bad for him.

We are working on how to use a spoon, or in her case; 2 spoons.

Just some light pathophysiology reading, no big thing.

Our week besides the walking has been quiet. I was bogged down with homework assignments and clinical hours. I did make it to clinical despite the 10 inches of snow we got Thursday and Friday. Thursday was a rough drive back home, my 1.5 hour drive turned into 2.5. At least this clinical site is worth it and I got to do my first steroid knee injection. I was pretty excited about that. Its the little things.

Mad Picasso skills!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas...wait a second, isn't it April? We are supposed to have April showers to bring us May flowers, not April snow to bring us May mud. I'm over this snow, and I refuse to shovel it.

Besides the snow, our past week has been blah. I have been working on school things, 6 more months... I can do this, I can do this. Andrew has been working. Abby has been sprint crawling around. Dexter has been eating pupcakes. Pupcakes? You may ask, what are those? Well they are awesome cupcakes from my favorite cupcake place, Nadia's. Thursday they offered a special cupcake made for dogs and donated the profits to local animal shelter. Of course, I used this as an excuse to go get some cupcakes for Dexter and for myself. A win win for all.

How delish does this look!

Waiting to be told he could eat it.

He had to scarf it down since Abby was sprint crawling toward him.

Abby has recently began "sprint" crawling. She will be playing with her toys in her toy corner and next thing you know she is sprint crawling around the stairs and to the kitchen or to Dexter's water bowel. It's usually Dexter's water bowel. I have a feeling the "testing" the parents stage is not to far off, as she knows she is not supposed to be by the water dish but continues to go to it and then giggles and turns to see if you are coming for her. That is about all I have for this week, I told you it was blah. Just some pictures to follow.

She has realized that she does not like clips or hair ties in her hair anymore. This is the result, hair all in her face. I'm not the one who can't see, so if it doesn't bother her, it doesn't bother me.

My lil' Picasso.

Look at those mad art skills!

A repeat from Facebook, but I love this picture and tutu. She's my little Hoya cheerleader.

Best Friends, just watching the snow fall.

Easter Picture Dump

I love Easter! The Easter Baskets, the Easter eggs filled with candy, and the cute outfits for the little ones. This Easter had all of the above. Andrew, Abby, and I made it to my parents successfully. Abby napped for a total of 3 hours on the drive there, by the end of the trip she had made it known that she was ready to be out of the car seat that was holding her captive for the 5 hour trip.

My parents held their annual Easter Egg hunt with my extended family and Andrews family. It was a great time and I think all the kids had a great time searching for their eggs. I did a much better job hiding the eggs for the kids, as I got an ear full last year for hiding the eggs to hard. (You mean a 3 year old can't find the egg hidden under a pile of grass in the pricker bush??) This year all the eggs could be seen without moving any grass or inanimate objects. Here are a couple pictures from this years Easter Egg Hunt.

Abby did a great job finding all her eggs. (we dumped them out in front of her). And how cute is that expression on Gavin's face.

Hunting for eggs.

Sharing with cousins.

More egg hunting!

Cute Cousins!

 Best girly buds!

Abby was so tired at this point, and Aunt LaLa's lap was the most comfy place for a nap.

As stated, this is a picture dump, so the next pictures are of Abby with her Easter baskets. I still have to hunt for my Easter basket from my parents, which is now a combined basket with Andrew and Abby. And, yes, I  said I still get an Easter basket. This is tradition, and I will continue to hunt for my basket for many many years to come.

Abby playing while I searched for my Easter basket.

One of my old toys, found in my closet, that appeared in my basket. It dances and signs "Crocodile Rock," unfortunately Abby loves it, so it came back home.

The Easter basket she got from Mom and Dad.

Pretty Easter dress.

Well, that was my Easter picture dump. Our Easter weekend was fun and ended with Andrew and I attending the Brewer home opener. Fun times were had.
