Well the month of September and October somehow flew right on by. Our weather has changed from the nice cool fall weather to snow flurries. Yes, I saw snow flurries yesterday and today. I was almost a little sad, but then I remembered how much I love the fall colors, that crisp fall smell, pumpkins, Halloween, and all my cute boots I get to pull out of the closet and wear again. I'd have to say that fall is probably my favorite time of the year and this year is no exception. After 2 1/2 years I can finally sit down and relax a little, because yes, I am done with school!!! I can proudly say that I am graduating Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University. I'd say that is quite an accomplishment, one that I could not have done without my very supportive and understanding husband. Since, there in no commencement ceremony in December, we decided to celebrate in Jamaica for a week at the end of November. I'm thinking this will be a well deserved vacation and celebration! 3 days after my last class, I went out and found myself a nice little Family Nurse Practitioner job! I will be the newest provider at the Albertville-St. Michael Clinic. This is pretty much my dream job, as I will have my own set of patients, ranging in age from 0-100, as well as having Urgent Care Clinic responsibilities. I am very excited about starting this new career and am so glad I pushed myself to go back to school. I am not sure when I will be able to start, however, as I still need to become board certified and then obtain the proper licensing and credentialing to be able to practice. So in the in between time, I am picking up shifts in the MICU, and enjoying time with my little sassy pants Abby.
Abby...oh Abby. She copies EVERYTHING we do now. It is usually pretty cute, but recently she has discovered the word, "No!" and boy does she love saying this, and making sure that we know that she does not want to do what we say. She throws multiple "1 person pout parties"(as I like to call them) when she is upset, which are actually quite funny, as she is upset on the floor crying one minute and then running around happy the next. She LOVES being outside and running around. She loves books and the Ipad. She says many words, my favorite being, "beep, beep" as she backs up. We have also taught her what Chewbaca says, what the knights (from Monty Python) say, and makes the touchdown sign when you ask what the Packer's do. She is just like a miny sponge that takes in everything around her. It is exciting to see what she learns from day to day.
We went to a pumpkin farm/corn maze this past weekend and Abby had blast. I have been lacking on taking pictures recently, so these are the only ones that I have taken with my camera in the past month. Enjoy!
There was a huge corn pit that you could sit in. It was pretty much like sitting in a giant bean bag chair, it was Awesome. Abby was a little leary of it at first.
Warming up to the corn pit.
This is getting fun.
"What? You expect me to get out now?"
Meeting and petting the goats. She loved it!
Oh look, a cow to pet.
More goats!!!
She is making her "smile/cheese" face for a picture, except she forgot to look at the camera.
Her expression when she noticed a sheep in the corner. She then proceeded to say "ba, ba, ba" until we went over by it.
Petting the sheep.
Corn Maze! We ended up going in quite a few circles when Abby was leading us.
Oh look a puddle!! She had to stop at EVERY puddle to point it out to us. It was cute for the first 2 puddles.
"CHEESE"
She eats ketchup, mayo, and butter by the spoonful. I pick my battles.
Next week is Halloween and I am excited to take Abby trick or treating this year. Her costume is almost ready and Dexter's is being hand made by my mother. This year they will be going out together as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. I can't wait to dress them both up!
