Splish Splash!

Well another year has come and gone. I am still amazed at how fast time goes, and how fast Abby grows and learns new things. Christmas was great and filled with many family gatherings. Abby as usual got spoiled by both her grandparents and aunt and uncles. I've learned over the years that Christmas is so much more than presents and living away from family makes it just that more special to get together with them. I guess it is also about the presents for the kids, and it is so much fun to watch them open their gifts and see their surprised and happy faces when the finally see what's inside. I love Christmas and this year did not disappoint. Maybe next year we can convince our families to make a Christmas trip out to Minnesota ;)

I did not take many pictures at Christmas, but did manage to get a good family picture.

I cannot remember the last time I was actually sick. I mean I get the occasional colds, sore throat, loose my voice type thing, but never sick enough for me to actually go in to the Doctors. As it turns out I caught strep throat. No clue where I caught it from, but I caught it and it is a miserable disease, especially if you decide to wait 4 days before going to the Doctor, because you continue to convince yourself that it is getting better because you have just taken the max dose of Tylenol and Ibuprofen and can choke down a 1/2 glass of water. Funny enough I sent this message to Andrew.

Yup, I waited another day after this message to go get it checked, exposing my family to step throat some more. I guess not everything can be a viral infection. Andrew also caught this horrible disease, but went in as soon as he felt a tickle in his throat. We were both better after a couple days on antibiotics.  I encourage anyone with the above symptoms to go get it checked sooner, rather than waiting. If not treated Strep throat can lead to some pretty bad complications, so best to go in and get it checked, and not wait around like I did.

Girl loves her cowgirl boots!!! She asks to put them on whenever she goes in her shoe bin and remembers that she has them. They are still a little big, but that doesn't bother her. She also loves her babies and takes them for rides in her car. She also loves to paint!

This past week Abby started swim lessons. Andrew took her to her first class, since I was still contagious with Strep throat. He said that she initially loved it, but after there was a suspicious object floating in the pool the swim lessons were moved to the lap pool, which is significantly cooler and she was not as happy. I took her this past week and I don't think I have ever seen her have more fun!! She loved putting her face in the water and blowing bubbles, loved kicking, and "jumping" off the side. She is the youngest in her class and does not know the concept of jumping so I just picked her up off the side and landed her in the water. She thought it was great fun and kept asking to do it again. We have 4 more weeks left and I think I see many more swim lesson classes in our future!
Floating on our back!

Her expression after sticking her face in the water.

Blowing bubbles!

About to "jump" in.

Fun times swimming!!
